 ALL OUT for 26!!!
Guys,

On Sunday I had the pleasure of watching a great bowling performance. Matt Ford won the toss and bowled at Kallang in order to get a result against a lowly SIA team before the rain came. This worked out better than imagined with SIA all out for 26. Greg Adnams was the chief destroyer with 6/12 from 7 overs. He was ably assisted by John Kett who took 3/12 from his 7 overs (all bowled) including 3 wickets in 4 balls. Greg's six included 3 bowled, 1 LBW and 2 catches. Johann Pieris of SIA, who many of you know from the regular maulings he has given us including 168 NO, had to drop someone at the airport. He arrived in time to come in at Number 11, but never faced a ball!

Seconds have their last League game of the season at SCC this Sunday so get down there to support them.

The Firsts are travelling really well. They picked up 21 points in the first half of the season (7 games). In their last three games they have already accumulated 25 points. If they keep playing at this level Firsts will definitely make the Finals! Congrats to Dave Jacquier, Ben Breheny, Stuart Macpherson (at last living up to his potential) and Mark Christensen in holding the batting together.

The secret to the Firsts success has been batting 50 overs, keeping wickets in hand, bowling one side and holding their catches - it's a simple game isn't it?

Thirds have three League matches left with another good chance of making the Finals. Congrats on them thumping the Division leaders in their last game with Corbon and Sid batting well, backed up by the bowling of Garry Hawker, Phil Render and Corbon again.

As you all know ANZA Champs have registered their first win of the season. They have an excellent chance of adding to the wins column in their last League game against lowly JP Morgan on 30 July. Kudos to Malcolm Carradus who has scored five fifties this year, I can't remember anyone emulating that feat in my time with the Club!

Following the League season we have the Senior and Junior Knockout competitions followed by the Finals.

Denis Meyer is doing a fantastic job with the Dream Team and you can expect regular games against quality opposition throughout the year.

You will hear more about planned tours this week.

And finally, Presentation Dinner is set for Armistice Day, 11 November, at the British Club. Keep this date free to honour the best players within each team and the overall Player of the Year, based on 3-2-1 votes cast by your captains!

I can't leave without a huge pat on the back to Josh who is managing our website. The content is right up-to-the-minute, and the stats are accurate. Who would have picked the current leaders in the bowling and batting aggregates?
