The Inaugural ANZA Cricket Club
"Cricket Ball" was a resounding succes
& a fitting tribute to the efforts of Annette
Tilbrook who stage managed the evening & to
Nigel Cummings the extraordinary "master
of ceremonies".
Over a hundred players, families & friends
attended the function which was sponsored by the
Grand Plaza Parkroyal courtesy of their General
Manager & club supporter Leon Larkin.
Special guests included the President of ANZA
Helen Prior & the ANZA Executive members,
our sponsors Stephen Lynch (CROWN RELOCATION)
& Johnny Walker (Pacific Beverages) &
Stephen Limbrick (RGM of Qantas) who provided
two tickets on Australian Airlines for the lucky
door prizes.
One of the evenings highlights was the club
captains in the guise of the "Village Cricketers"
performing their version of "A N Z A".
The major award winners were as follows. Club
Person of the Year. Annette Tilbrook & John
Jackson, joint winners. Club Player of the Year.
Scott McAlister . The club president Ron Holmes
was awarded the clubs highest honour, the very
first Life Member of
the ANZA Cricket Club.
